The SAIL for Initial Leadership program explores theories, research, and policies that support effective school leadership practices. Participants will develop the knowledge, skills, and dispositions required to assume school leadership roles in Ohio with an emphasis on examining the various decisions affecting school administrators and the importance of human resource management. Leadership strategies that promote collaboration within and without the learning organization are also explored and examined for their impact on student achievement and school improvement.
Upon successful completion of an additional 18 semester hours at Concordia University Chicago ( www.CUChicago.edu ) in coursework related to research, organizational policies and theories, finance, human resources, and law as well as successful completion of an internship experience, the Learner will be eligible for an Ohio building level principal's license and their Master's Degree in Educational Leadership.
Content for the SAIL program is delivered both face to face and online. Content for the Concordia University Chicago licensure program is delivered online.
This program is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) , and meets the standards for the preparation of administrators approved by the Interstate School Leaders Licensure Consortium (ISLLC).
