Any group or individual may nominate building administrators, school secretary, central office administrator and/or school. Self-nominations are permitted. A secretary can only be nominated by his or her principal. OAESA Board members, their direct reports, and their schools are not eligible for nomination.

Nominations are due October 27th at 3pm. Completed applications are due January 5, 2024 by noon.

Ohio NAESP National Distinguished Principal Award This award recognizes an elementary and/or middle-level principal as the OAESA Principal of the year. If this individual meets current NAESP membership requirements, s/he can additionally be recognized as the National Distinguished Principal (NDP) and will represent Ohio in the National Association of Elementary School Principals’ NDP program in Washington D.C. The recipient of this award will receive a monetary award to be used at his or her discretion.
Outstanding Second-In-Command Administrator Award OAESA annually recognizes the exceptional leadership of the second in command administrators who partner in the day-to-day operations of prek-8 schools. The recipient of the Outstanding Second-In-Command Administrator Award will receive a monetary award to be used at his or her discretion.
Outstanding Central Office Administrator Award OAESA will recognize a central office administrator who works on behalf of our prek-8 students adding a tremendous benefit to a school community. The recipient of the Outstanding Central Office Administrator Award will receive a monetary award to be used at his or her discretion.
Hall of Fame School Award OAESA celebrates schools that go above and beyond to engage and serve students, teachers, and community members with our annual Hall of Fame School Awards. Winning schools will be recognized at the annual Awards Celebration and will receive a monetary award to be used at the principal’s discretion.
Secretary of the Year Award OAESA annually honors one outstanding school secretary. The nominating principal will receive an email with a link to the application that must be completed by the principal of the nominated secretary. Members of OAESA’s Recognition Service Team will review applications and choose the award winner.
