OAESA Awards

Award Nominations (2018-2019 school year)

Any group or individual may nominate a principal, assistant principal, secretary, and/or school that fits the award criteria. Self nominations are permitted. Upon nomination, a link to the online applications for the Ohio National Distinguished Principal, National Outstanding Assistant Principal, and/or Hall of Fame School awards will be emailed to nominees. A link to the application for the Secretary of the Year award will be emailed to the nominator. A team will conduct on-site visits to finalists' schools of all awards except the Secretary of the Year Award.

Nominations are due December 1, 2018. Completed applications are due January 31, 2019.

Ohio National Distinguished Principal Award
OAESA annually recognizes an elementary and/or middle-level principal as the Ohio National Distinguished Principal. This principal represents Ohio in the National Association of Elementary School Principals’ National Distinguished Principal program in Washington, D.C. The recipient(s) will receive a monetary award that may be used entirely at their discretion.

National Outstanding Assistant Principal Award
OAESA annually recognizes the exceptional leadership of the assistant principals who partner in the day-to-day operations of pre k-8 schools. The recipient of the National Outstanding Assistant Principal Award will receive a monetary award to be used at his or her discretion and complimentary registration to NAESP’s annual convention.

Hall of Fame School Award
OAESA celebrates schools that go beyond to engage and serve students, teachers, and community members with our annual Hall of Fame School Awards. Winning schools will be recognized at the annual Awards Luncheon and will receive a monetary award to be used at the principal’s discretion.

Secretary of the Year Award
OAESA annually honors one outstanding school secretary. Members of OAESA’s Recognition Service Team will review applications and choose the award winner.
