Award Nominations (2021-2022 school year)

Any group or individual may nominate building administrators, school secretary, central office administrator and/or school. Self nominations are permitted. A secretary can only be nominated by his or her principal. OAESA Board members, their direct reports, and their schools are not eligible for nomination. Following the review of the nomination, a link to the online application for the National Distinguished Principal, Outstanding Second In Command Administrator, Outstanding Central Office Administrator, and/or Hall of Fame School awards will be emailed to nominees and the secretary application will be sent to the nominator.


Nominations are due December 1, 2021. Completed applications are due February 1, 2022 by noon.

Ohio NAESP National Distinguished Principal Award
OAESA annually recognizes an elementary and/or middle-level principal as the Ohio NAESP National Distinguished Principal. This principal represents Ohio in the National Association of Elementary School Principals’ National Distinguished Principal program in Washington, D.C. The recipient(s) will receive a monetary award that may be used at their discretion.
 

Outstanding Second-In-Command Administrator Award
OAESA annually recognizes the exceptional leadership of the second in command administrators who partner in the day-to-day operations of prek-8 schools. The recipient of the Outstanding Second-In-Command Administrator Award will receive a monetary award to be used at his or her discretion.
 

Outstanding Central Office Administrator Award
OAESA will recognize a central office administrator who works on behalf of our prek-8 students adding a tremendous benefit to a school community. The recipient of the Outstanding Central Office Administrator Award will receive a monetary award to be used at his or her discretion.
 

Hall of Fame School Award
OAESA celebrates schools that go above and beyond to engage and serve students, teachers, and community members with our annual Hall of Fame School Awards. Winning schools will be recognized at the annual Awards Luncheon and will receive a monetary award to be used at the principal’s discretion.
 

Secretary of the Year Award
OAESA annually honors one outstanding school secretary. The nominating principal will receive an email with a link to the application that must be completed by the principal of the nominated secretary. Members of OAESA’s Recognition Service Team will review applications and choose the award winner.
