March 14, 2022--Prevention Services Data Reporting

Prevention Services Data Reporting is conducted in response to Ohio law. Schools must report the types of prevention-focused programs, services and supports used to assist students in developing the knowledge and skills to engage in healthy behaviors and decision-making and increase their awareness of the dangers and consequences of risky behaviors. Superintendents and school leaders will receive an email from Ohio K12 Help, on March 21, with more information on how buildings should report the prevention-focused curriculum, instruction, programs and supports provided to students during the 2020-2021 school year. Schools will also be asked to report on prevention-focused professional development and community partnerships.

February 15, 2022--ENGAGE Ohio Information

The Ohio Department of Education is excited to announce a new program in partnership with Graduation Alliance funded by Ohio House Bill 110 to support K-12 students who are chronically absent or struggling in school: ENGAGE Ohio.

ENGAGE Ohio is a program that helps your district offer additional support to students who are struggling due to the pandemic without adding extra burden to your teaching and support staff. This program is available to school districts and community schools at no cost. When districts opts-in, students will receive free one-on-one support to help them manage the academic and social-emotional barriers preventing them from reaching their highest potential in school.

To learn more, please attend 30-minute information session about ENGAGE Ohio. Register for a session here.

  • Thursday, February 17th - 9:00AM EST
  • Tuesday, February 22nd -12:30PM EST

  • Friday, February 25th - 9:00 AM EST

This support program is available through the end of the 2022-23 school year. ENGAGE Ohio uses a team of experienced Academic Success Coaches to:

  • Deploy a multi-channel outreach strategy to reach students who are disengaged, chronically absent, or struggling in school
  • Identify and mitigate the obstacles preventing consistent engagement
  • Provide academic resources and motivational support to help students continue learning and earning credit toward graduation
  • Provide on-demand support for students who are quarantined due to COVID-19

To opt in to this program, visit EngageOhio.GraduationAlliance.com or email EngageOH@graduationalliance.com. All you need to do is provide contact information for your district’s point of contact and data coordinator and share a rough estimate of the number of students you plan to refer to ENGAGE.
