Dear Building Administrator:

Happy National School Counseling Week (#NSCW25)! This week annually highlights the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career. On behalf of the Ohio School Counselor Association we value your building leadership every day and the support you provide.

We would like to share some ideas to help you celebrate your school counselors this week:

Advocate
“Guidance counselor” is an outdated term and the title no longer encompasses the broad scope of work that is done by professional school counselors. Be sure your building has adopted the title “school counselor” by updating business cards, door plaques, email signatures, and websites. Educate
Encourage your school counselors to share brief daily announcements to get your school excited about each day of #NSCW25, or share these sample morning announcements in an email to staff or at a staff meeting.

Collaborate
This toolkit is a guide to enhancing the Principal-School Counselor relationship to collaborate for equity and student outcomes.
