Resources Available for Severe Weather Awareness Week

Ohio’s Severe Weather Awareness Week is March 16-22, 2025.

For teachers planning their lessons, the Ohio Insurance Institute has developed a series of handouts for students in grades 1-6 focused on thunderstorm and lightning safety, and tornado safety. Also included are handouts to help families create a severe weather safety plan and a coloring page to remind students to “DUCK” when severe weather hits. Additionally, teachers can fill out a resource request form to have printed handouts mailed directly.
