Call for Concurrent Session Proposals
The Ohio Deans Compact, in partnership with OCTEO, extends an invitation to institutions of higher education, P12 districts and schools, professional associations, state and regional personnel, and others to submit proposals to offer concurrent sessions at the 13th Annual Statewide Conference.
This year’s theme – The Power of the Teaching Profession: Creating Pathways to Accelerated Learning for All Students – reflects the Compact’s mission to support the preparation and professional learning of all practicing and future educators committed to improving learning opportunities and outcomes for all children and youth in Ohio.
Concurrent sessions will be held on the afternoon of Thursday, February 26, 2026. Each presentation should involve a combination of presentation and discussion. The Compact seeks proposals on the following priority areas but will consider submissions focused on other topics based on their alignment with Compact priorities:
- Accelerating Learning in Literacy and/or Mathematics for All Students (including efforts to develop blended preparation programs leading to dual licensure)
- Workforce Development: Recruitment and Retention in Difficult-to-Staff Areas
- Workforce Development: Advancing Postsecondary Outcomes for Youth with Disabilities
- Improving Literacy Preparation and Practice Based on Reading Science
- Addressing Mental Health/Wellness Needs of Students and Educators
- Conducting Research in Promising Practices
Please complete and submit your proposal to offer a concurrent session. Proposals are due by November 7, 2025 and should be sent as a Word document to Deborah Telfer, PhD via email at Deborah.telfer@uc.edu. Lead presenters will be notified of acceptance on/around January 30, 2026.
Please note: presentations may not be used to sell or promote products or services.
