Dear Ohio NAESP Members,

I’m excited to introduce myself as your NAESP State Representative for Ohio! My name is Jason Orin, and I am the principal of Louisville Middle School. I’m honored to serve in this new role.

Many of you may already know me from my previous service as the  OAESA Zone 8 Director. I’m grateful for that opportunity and especially excited to continue advocating for, connecting with, and supporting Ohio’s principals in this new capacity.

October is a particularly exciting time to begin this work as we celebrate National Principals Month. NAESP is encouraging school leaders to celebrate the important work principals do every day and to share their stories and pride in the profession.

A few NAESP opportunities to share this month:

🎉 NAESP Live: The Principal Party
Monday, October 5 at 2:30 p.m. ET
Join principals from across the country for a 40-minute celebration featuring games, giveaways, surprise guests, and opportunities to connect with fellow school leaders.

📚 Professional Learning & Networking
NAESP has several opportunities to connect with colleagues through communities and network meetups, including the Assistant Principal Network, Aspiring School Leaders Network, Early Career Principal Network, Principals of Color Network, and Meeting in the Middle.

💻 Featured Webinar: When Behavior Becomes the Barrier: What Principals Are Doing That Actually Works
October 21 at 5:00 p.m. ET

🏆 Meet the 2026 National Distinguished Principals
On October 15–16, 39 National Distinguished Principals from across the country will gather in Washington, D.C., to celebrate their leadership and impact on students, schools, and communities.

I’m also including a link to the October Lead the Way resource with this message, which has additional information about upcoming events, professional learning, communities, and ways to stay connected with NAESP.

Happy National Principals Month! Let’s celebrate the incredible work Ohio principals do every day.

Sincerely,

Jason Orin
